PA12 Cable Ties with Favorable Low-Temperature Toughness, Preferred Bundling Fasteners for Cold Chain & Outdoor Low-Temperature Scenarios
With the continuous expansion of cold-chain industries, outdoor power facilities in cold northern regions and wind power supporting sectors, a large number of pipelines and small components are required to operate in low-temperature surroundings all year round. Traditional cable ties made from PA6 or PA66 are sensitive to low temperatures. When the temperature drops, these materials become stiffer and less tough. They may crack under repeated bending or slight vibration, leading to loose wiring and failed pipe fixing. This brings extra maintenance costs and potential operational risks for equipment.
To address the pain points of bundling in cold environments, SVM (Yancheng Suweimei) optimizes the molecular structure based on the inherent characteristics of PA12 via compound modification technology. We produce low-temperature friendly cable ties from self-developed modified PA12 compounds. The modified material helps relieve the common defect that ordinary cable ties crack easily in cold conditions.
Product Features
- Satisfactory toughness at low temperatures The modified PA12 matrix retains good toughness in cold environments. Compared with conventional nylon cable ties, it is less prone to cracking when bent or repositioned for bundling under low temperature, fitting environments with steady low temperature or frequent temperature fluctuation.
- Grease resistant property The formula is compatible with working environments where lubricating oil or grease exists. The material will not swell rapidly or lose performance quickly after grease contact, suitable for bundling around power units and mechanical accessories.
- Customizable formulation We can adjust the compound formula according to actual operating temperature, outdoor exposure duration and contacting media of projects. Extra functional additives can be introduced for upgraded performance.
Application Scope
These modified PA12 cable ties are designed for bundling applications that run under low temperature for long periods:
- Cold chain units: Fastening pipelines and evaporator tubes inside refrigeration equipment;
- Wind power supporting facilities: Bundling sensor wires and small accessories for outdoor wind turbines;
- Outdoor electrical systems in cold zones: Fixing wiring for outdoor cabinets, lighting and communication lines in cold northern areas.
FAQ
Q: Will these PA12 cable ties crack at -30℃? A: Our modified PA12 formulation shows good adaptability at -30℃. For projects exposed to even lower or long-lasting ultra-low temperature, the raw material formula can be adjusted for further optimization after communication.
Q: Are PA12 cable ties suitable for long-term sun exposure? A: The standard grade has average weather resistance and is not recommended for continuous long-time sunlight exposure. If long-term outdoor use under sunlight is required, anti-UV additives can be added into the compound for customized weather-resistant grades to slow down aging.
SVM (Yancheng Suweimei) provides sample service and working condition evaluation. We offer proper cable tie selection and material suggestions based on on-site temperature, contacting media and outdoor conditions, helping customers reduce maintenance risks caused by brittle failure of bundling fasteners in cold environments.
